At Central Coast Orthopedics we provide a full range of orthopedic services to families and athletes all across the California Central Coast. We’ve been doing so since 1985, with offices in San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, and Santa Maria. If you live in the area, chances are we’ve already treated some of your family and friends!

Specialists: Each of our 14 physicians has been educated at top Universities and Medical Centers across the nation. We have all invested in additional specialty training, which is necessary for us to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal problems in all parts of the body. The musculoskeletal system includes your bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves, and allows you to move, work, and be active.

We actively participate in continuing medical education programs, making sure we evaluate new and emerging technologies that keep our skills sharp. We collaborate with each other on challenging cases – which is one of the benefits of being part of a 9-physician medical specialty group.

Progression of Treatments: Each of us approaches the patient’s individual needs through a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan.  Our goal is to help every patient achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. We combine leading edge techniques with proven traditional methods to provide our patients with the best orthopedic care possible. Many musculoskeletal conditions can be addressed by a range of treatments, where surgery is just one option.

Partnership: We work to develop an open and honest doctor-patient partnership, which begins with listening well. One of the most important things we need to know is how a physical problem affects the patient’s life. We try to create an open dialog, through which the patient understands the diagnostic process, their unique problem, its treatment choices and their recovery process. Engaged patients can better help us to guide and direct their diagnostic and treatment activities.

Educated Patients: Knowledgeable patients make the best decisions about their own treatment, so we want our patients to be as well-informed about their condition and their treatment options as possible. That’s why we explain every step of the diagnostic process, and help our patients understand their condition, how it developed and the various treatment approaches for repairing or improving the problem. We discuss treatment alternatives and help the patient get a realistic outlook concerning the likely results and potential related risks.

Team Physicians: We act as team physicians and support the athletic programs of California Polytechnic State University, Cuesta College, Allan Hancock College, and Santa Maria, Orcutt Academy, Arroyo Grande, Righetti, Pioneer Valley, St. Joseph’s & Mission College Preparatory High Schools. You’ll usually see one of us on the sidelines of every football game.

Emergency Trauma Care: We support the Emergency Rooms at French Hospital Medical Center, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, and Marian Medical Center. When a patient comes to the Emergency Room with musculoskeletal trauma, we provide care for them. We take care of the complete family: from children to grandparents.
